How to steal a cage and open it

Take a cage from a sleeping boss, get it into an open base slot, and open it before you chase a rarer one.

A cage is not a pet until you get it home and open it. The official loop is to take a cage from a sleeping boss, run home before that boss catches you, then open the cage.

Before you touch the cage

  1. Join from the official experience so you are not in Ride A Pet or another steal game.
  2. Follow the tutorial arrows if they are still on screen. Recorded tutorial text says to steal the first cage, follow the arrows, and hold E at the glowing cage.
  3. Look at the boss. Start the steal only while it is asleep and you can already name the path back to your base.
  4. Prefer a short, familiar run over the rarest cage you can see. A cage that never arrives does not help the barn.

The return

Pick up the cage and leave at once. Do not stop to inspect another cage while you are carrying one. Riding a pet makes the trip home faster. A lasso can stop a player who is trying to take your cage, and a banana peel is the official drop for a pursuer. Neither tool replaces Speed or a route you already walked without a cage.

If the same route fails twice, stop and train. The Speed guide explains the difference between the Speed number a zone asks for and the extra movement you get from a mount.

Opening it

Place the cage in an open base slot. One tutorial says to go into the barn and hold E at an empty pen, then open the cage. Opening is timed. Recorded waits have been about four minutes and about ten minutes on different cages, so use the timer on the cage you placed.

If the cage will not fit, upgrade base capacity before you steal another one. After it opens, either ride the pet or leave it in the barn for cash. Those are different jobs.

Cage labels you will see

Guides group ordinary cages as Common, Rare, Epic, Mythic, and Cosmic, plus Secret and limited event cages. A Halloween shop screen in one session also listed pet words such as Secret, Eternal, Divine, Infinity, Astral, Omega, and Singularity. Treat those as two reported label sets. They are not one official drop table, and odds are not published except where a card prints them.

The Dinosaur Era Cage is a limited cage. The official description says it holds 12 limited pets. Meteor showers are a separate source of rare cages. Both are time-limited, so check the live event before you plan a route around them.

What a successful steal looks like

The cage is in your base, the open prompt finishes, and a pet is either equipped or sitting in a barn slot. The Welcome! badge is the public marker for stealing that first pet.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there Steal A Pet And Ride It codes?

No code string has been published for this experience. The game page, the Snail Riders community, and the event listings checked through 1 November 2026 did not post one, and there is no expired code to archive. Join the Snail Riders community from the game page for the free Legendary pet instead.

Do I keep pets after a rebirth?

The official description says you keep all your pets. Recorded rebirths also drop trained Speed, so rebuild on the treadmill before you try a hard cage. The cash requirement on the rebirth stand can change. One session showed 500,000 cash, which is an example, not a fixed price.

How much Speed opens World 2?

A player guide and the matching zone list put the World 2 unlock at 200 billion Speed. Other large numbers in videos line up with later zones, such as 300 billion for Moon Base, rather than a second World 2 gate. Read the portal in your server before you spend for the last push.

Why do other pet codes fail in this game?

Ride A Pet, Dropout Interactive's Steal A Pet, and BIG Games Steal a Pet are different experiences. Their codes, eggs, and pet tables do not apply here. This game's place is 95168737547508, by Snail Riders.
